Laura Era was born in 1953 and raised on the Eastern Shore near Cambridge, Maryland. She has considered herself an artist since the cradle! Although basically self-taught, she has taken workshops from Daniel E. Greene, Burton Silverman, and Raoul Middleman. Since turning professional in 1988, Laura has painted hundreds of portraits on commission in pastel and oil. Represented in the Baltimore area by the Bendann Gallery of Towson, she also teaches classes and workshops and is co-owner of the Troika Gallery.
