Victor is a painter inspired by old masters such as Rembrandt and Velazquez. He applies the fundamentals of Chiqroscuro painting to his picture making. Hi is best known for his small pristine still lives and landscapes as well as for portraits. He lives and works in historic Lewes.

His family has a long history of interest in the arts as members of the Russian Czar's court. Just as his father and numerous male relatives were officers in the Czar's armies, Victor was educated at the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned a Master's degree from the University of Texas in Austin. His 35 year career in the United States Army included service in a number of combat units, along with teaching at West Point and the Army War College. Colonel Letonoff was twice awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action.

In order to jump start his full time painting career after leaving the Army, Victor attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia for 4 years, earning the school's prestigious Certificate Degree. He also studied at the Ecole Des Beaux Artes in Paris during this period.

Over the last decade, Victor has had numerous one man shows in galleries around the mid Atlantic region. He has also showed his work in many juried group shows. His work is included in a number of private collections as well as several large public collections like Wilmington's new courthouse.
