Kirk McBride has been exhibiting paintings in oil, watercolor and goauche for over 25 years. He lives on Maryland's Eastern Shore in order to be close to the ocean. Places on or near the sea provide the themes in much of his work.
Kirk McBride's unique style of painting produces pieces with exceptionally rich and deep colors, often capturing the warm and cool contrasts of early morning or evening light. "I enjoy learning something every day, and I learn something each time I sit down and paint. It's like starting a puzzle to which there are no right answers, you just have to go with your instincts, experiment and build on what you have learned from past paintings."
Also working as a successful free-lance illustrator and designer for the surf and outdoors industries allows Kirk to stay close to the places and outdoor activities he loves. He produces a wide variety of work from illustrations used in Patagonia's clothing catalog, to Aloha Print shirt fabrics for Picante, to trade show booths for Sportif, to that favorite t-shirt you might be wearing right now.
