Since 1997 Troika Gallery has specialized in fine, classically based, original art, portrait commissions and custom framing.
Expert Staff
Laura Era, Gallery Owner, and Professional Artist is an award-winning portrait and landscape painter. Born in Japan, but a native of the Eastern Shore, her artistic training began at an early age under the tutelage of her mother, portrait artist Dorothy F. Newland.
Laura has studied under many noted portrait artists and is an active member of The Portrait Society. She is commissioned by the State of Maryland, Johns Hopkins Hospital, The University of Maryland and The Talbot Country Free Library. Children, adults and beloved pets have all been magically captured by her outstanding talent. Her paintings hang in collections throughout America and Europe.
Laura is a well-respected art instructor having inspired many artists with her talent for teaching. Her large waterfront studio in Dorchester County boasts of Eastern Shore light and ample space for her students.

Peg Fitzgerald, Troika Gallery Manager, has a background in art and holds a dual degree in journalism and studio art from the University of New Hampshire. A former editor at The National Art Museum and Gallery Guide, she created one of the first art guides to Soho in New York City. Peg was the Director of Communications at the Talbot Hospice Foundation for many years.
Peg is an oil painter of landscapes and still life and has a fond appreciation for all things art. After raising five children she is now hoping to find the time to get back to her paints, although her grandchildren come first!
She is thrilled to manage Troika Gallery and awed by the talent!

Robert Koenke
Appraiser & Art Advisory
Robert J. Koenke is a candidate of the American Society of Appraisers and has extensive experience in the art world. His specialty is sporting and wildlife art. His experience includes 24 years as owner, publisher and editor-in-chief of the world`s largest wildlife art publication, Wildlife Art.
He has served on numerous art advisory boards including the Bell Museum of Natural History, Minneapolis, MN; the Waterfowl Festival, Easton MD; and the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, Charleston, SC and is a trustee of the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD.
Mr. Koenke holds a B.A. degree from Hamline University, St. Paul, MN and a degree in Fine Arts Appraisal from Pratt Institute in New York. He has taught art and marketing.
Robert can assist with Art Appraisals that may be necessary for a donation, insurance purposes, estates, collateral, consultation or for an equitable distribution. Expert Art Restoration
Troika Gallery is proud to have a working relationship with a Fine Art Conservator, Ken Milton. As the sole proprietor of Fine Arts Conservation, Ken makes frequent visits to Troika Gallery to examine, document and treat paintings, frames and works of art. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Temple University and The University of Delaware in conjunction with The Winterthur Museum, Ken is well versed in his field.
He is a member of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic Works, The Guilders Association of America and The International Institute for Conservation of Historic Works.
